Best Hawaiian Vacation

E Komo Mai to our world.... Welcome to our world!

We began visiting the Islands in the early 1980's and always felt drawn to the Aloha Spirit that exists on the Hawaiian Islands.

Our visits as vacationers grew longer and over the years the longer we stayed the more we felt Oahu was the Island for us.

We are now residing on the beautiful Leeward Coast of Oahu with sunshine, less rain and where sunsets are our trademark.
The sunsets are so stunning you will even see residents pull over and watch for the green flash, and during migrating season watch for whales!

We offer our vacation homes so you may experience what drew us here - not only to visit the island - but to decide to make this our home.

Please come and enjoy

FAN HOUSE

Aimee C., 2011-01-01

We stayed in this house for the month of February, 2011, and our only wish was that we could stay longer. The house and garden are well maintained, and three of the four bedrooms face the ocean. The downstairs living area is fantastic, all windows, great lanai, plenty of seating. We dined outdoors nearly every night.
This house is not in the touristy area of Oahu, so you're far away from all of the noise and traffic. There are two grocery stores about two miles away. High speed internet and phones made this a perfect spot for us, since we had to work while we were there. (Pretty much the best office I've ever had, watching turtles graze on the plants and whales frolic in the distance.)
The surf is sometimes a little rough right in front of the house. This is probably seasonal. But if you have very young children, there are super calm beaches a short drive away.
The owners and manager were all very reasonable to work with. Laundry facilites on site. We hope to visit again soon!
-----

Anita S., 2013-01-01

We stayed the entire month of February and loved it! The house is absolutely beautiful. It had everything we needed and more. The caretaker (and owner) ensure you are well looked after and respond quickly to any issue that may arise. Makaha is on the West side of the island which is home to 80% of the locals. What a wonderful experience. Everyone was so nice. Even though we had a wonderful beach right in our back yard, we sometimes walked a short ways up the road to Makaha beach and watched surfing and even a local surf competition. A block away was a small beach where turtles came up to lay on the sand (you're not allowed to touch them). We saw several whales while just sitting on the patio. It was breath taking. A mile away was a little beach bar/restaurant. It's part of a base so you have to park outside the gate and walk in (show ID). The beach there is great as well. Oahu is just over 500 square miles, we circled it twice. You definitely need a vehicle if you stay here though I think you would wherever you stayed (exception being right in Wikiki). Speaking of Wikiki, there is a great pub called Lou Lou's. It's located at the far end of Wikiki beach by the zoo. So as for our stay at the Fan House, my husband, myself and all of travel companions loved it here!

Fati , 2014-12-16

The house was beautiful just as it is on the website, it had everything we needed and we were greeted with a basket of snacks, chilled bottles of water and a bottle of wine :) Everyone that we have dealt with from the time of booking, payment, arrival and departure have all been Lovely :) Thank you Rita, Heidi & Debbi for working with us to make our stay a memorable time at the house.
-----

, 2014-12-29

The Fan house is a wonderful place, beautiful ocean views, the master bedroom and bathroom are amazing! Even with separate sauna, spa bath and shower room..
Each room in the Fan house is lovely, all close to bathrooms (if not ensuites.) it can be hot though with only fans in the house (no aircon.) but none the less with the ocean breeze and fans it's ok.
There are a few things that could be maintained in the house such as older cupboards and such but it's easy to see past as you'll most likely be out the back looking at the water enjoying yourselves.
Debbie was very helpful, she explains everything to you and is always on call to help.
I'd definitely recommend staying at the Fan house if you want a different/ better experience than staying in Honolulu or Waikiki.
It's beautiful!

-----

Lorne and Maria Gartner, 2015-01-05

We had our family (11 people) staying at the Fan house over Christmas 2014 a and we had a great time. The setting, yard and basic layout was great. The view was spectacular and the house is laid out to get that Hawaii sunset very night.
The inside appointments are nice but the cabinets are deteriorating and could use some TLC.
**** Owner Response ****
We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your comments. We have installation of new cabinets scheduled for late spring.

TURTLE HOUSE

The Bishop Family, 2013-05-01

Just wanted to thank you for donating your property for one week in Hawaii.
I was the very fortunate winner when the drawing was made last October at the end of the golf tournament. The "week in Hawaii" donation raised about $6,000 towards some very deserving non-profit organizations who benefited from your generosity.

We ended up taking our entire family (myself and my wife, 4 children, 3 spouses, 4 grandchildren, ages almost 4, almost 3, just turned 2 and one that turned 1 while we were there) which totaled 13.

The house (The Turtle House) was fantastic. We all fit nicely, and so enjoyed every second we were there. The setting, right on the ocean, was unbelievable. The 2 families that had children (4 came from Iowa, and 4 came from Texas), were on Central time, which was 5 hours difference from Hawaii. The first morning, they (grandchildren) started waking up at 1:45am and the other 3 grandkids were up by 3:30am--so we were all up by 3:30am.
It was a full moon, and we all went out by the firepit and watched the ocean. We ate breakfast out there at 5am, and watched the sun come up somewhere around 7am. The grandchildren for the rest of the week got up a little later, but we were always up and out on the deck before 6am--ENJOYABLE! We so enjoyed the landscaping of your beautiful home.

We enjoyed the Bar-b-que 5 evenings and sat around the big table for all of our evening meals--DELIGHTFUL! We didn't open the bar until the last 2 evenings. Our son-in-law discovered the sound system, so he found Hawaiian music on his IPOD, and played it through your sound system, and we enjoyed the music while we ate, and stayed on out in back after eating.

The house, kitchen, family room and bedrooms were wonderful, and nicely furnished.

We made every effort to leave your beautiful home in the condition that we found it. We had all the towels washed and put away (and back up), had the sheets off the beds, but did not get them washed, the patio swept and hosed off. The house and yard were so "perfect" when we arrived--wanted it to be as close to perfect when we left it.

We made reservations 204 days from our actual arrival. We counted down each day (from 200) until zero days remained (not missing a day). Our stay even exceeded our expectations--which was something!
Thank you, from all of our family, for your generosity in donating this wonderful home. It was so nice getting a call from Mrs. Norton on Saturday, just checking up on how we were enjoying our stay. That was much appreciated.

Ramaglia Family, 2014-01-01

Thank you so much for sharing this amazing house with us. The view is incredible! The sunsets we saw will never be forgotten. The location is pefect, near breaches and turtles, but secluded enough to feel bery private. We were able to see whales almost every day. We saw turtles sunning themselves at Turtle Beach and even got to watch one pull itself up the beath. Thank you again for allowing us to use this amazing house.
-----

Mehr and Melton Family, 2014-04-01

A beautiful home! We made many happy memories. The view was fantastic. Thank you!

Bryson Family, 2014-08-01

Mahalo Turtle House. We had such a fun time here. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was truly a week of paradise. And the view was incredible! We will be back.
-----

Theresa, 2014-12-05

We have been enjoying ourselves and the property and certainly wish our stay was longer.

, 2015-02-11

The Turtle house was an amazing place for the purpose of our trip! I had the privilege of guiding 10 teacher candidates to work on the Waianae Schools for the month of January. The house could not have been a more perfect location for our needs. Rita and Bob were the consummate hosts, Heidi responded to our every email and request and worked with us on our billing and Debi was simply incredible and welcoming upon our arrival, all of them providing us with the Aloha Spirit!

During our month of service and learning, we had the opportunity to get to know our neighbors, the community and the surrounding area. We even danced a little to a luau (wedding) happing two doors down, and were even invited to join them! We never once felt unsafe, and marveled at the beautiful surroundings! Hey, what college student wouldn’t want a classroom setting to be in Hawaii’s beautiful surroundings! We made it a point to become a part of the community, and not just a visitor!

We ventured out to various points on the island, and always looked forward to our rest time at the house. How could you not with countless numbers of whales breaching daily, turtles swimming outside the back lawn, and of course the Turtle Bar to play music and unwind after a long day in the schools! We hope to make this our home away from home for many years to come, as we strengthen our relationship with the Waianae Schools and help the district to grow local teachers who will return to the community to teach for a lifetime!

Aloha and Mahalo!

Bryan, 2015-04-16

We stayed at Turtle House and held our wedding here in 2015, and we couldn't have been more happy.

The property is absolutely stunning, and although the pictures are inspiring, they don't compare to the realities of when you walk in on a sunny day!

The views over the ocean any time of day are great, and you are certain to see marine life, such as sea turtles, right from the back of the house. But the sunsets are stunning.

The house itself is well put together and completely suitable for the maximum number of guests to live in. It's a comfortable sophistication - It's well-maintained with beautiful accents. There's plenty of room for parking, stocking your food for the week and the kitchen is equipped for all of your family's needs.

You will be greeted by one of the best souls on Oahu, you will enjoy her humour and good spirits. As for hosting events, things went off without a hitch. Honestly, it's everything we could've dreamed of for our wedding ceremony and reception.

The area is a little off the beaten path, but after a couple nights in Waikiki, that's a good thing! Not too far that you cannot access everything on the island, but far enough that you get a genuine local feel that is hard to find on the main island.

Beautiful beaches that will feel private are only minutes away by foot!

Insider tips:
1) Go for a morning run north to get away from it all and see some beautiful scenes of nature, including lava rock coasts, caves, mountains and more.
2) Walk to a nearby food truck for a shrimp dish better than most restaurants in the big city!
3) Light the back-yard tiki torches for an outdoor sunset dinner and it will be the best setting you've ever had.

Thank you to everyone for allowing us to stay and have the time of our lives!

We just arrived back from Oahu. Thank you very much for letting us stay in your condo. It was spectacular. Not only the accommodations in the room, but the entire complex, was awesome. Our time on the island was outstanding. We did a lot of sight seeing (the kids are old enough to go to Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, etc.) and we drove to several more remote locations on the island to see all that Hawaii had to offer. After a long day it was nice to come back to your place rather than a crowded and crammed hotel. I actually looked forward to getting back and relaxing on the lanai and watching the sunset. Our whole family had a great time!!!! Thanks again for your kindness and hospitality.
Aloha,

M. Stolo, 2014-09-01

My husband and I just spent a week on Oahu in the most amazing, ocean front, penthouse. With two lanais that open, we enjoyed the breeze moving through the condo and the view from each was breathtaking. The cleanliness and the decor were island perfect. As an added bonus the easy access from the airport and the proximity to other island adventures was perfect. We know we will be back to enjoy this island gem again and again.
-----

P. Offel, 2014-09-01

The 'Penthouse' is the most spacious, most beautiful place we have ever had the pleasure of staying at (2nd time) and we look forward to our next visit there.

Opening the sliding doors-one on each side of the building- to allow the tropical breezes thru as well as the panoramic view of the ocean and 5 lagoons, is breathless.

Additionally, we love lounging in the pool while knowing we have a 'tiki bar' only steps away.

If your into fitness-which my husband is-the Penthouse has a state of the art gym with both machines and weights.

If luxury is what you’re looking for at a reasonable price, I highly recommend the Penthouse.

DESTINATION WEDDING AT THE TURTLE HOUSE

Evan, 2014-08-01

My wife and I married at the Turtle house on August 28, 2014. We were so excited to find such a beautiful home, located next to the water, that was willing to accommodate our ceremony and reception. We only had 16 total guests, along with help from the catering team and photographers who flew in from South Korea. Everyone who set foot in the house was super impressed with its beauty, location, views, and overall great feel. We had a painless check-in experience with the wonderful Debi. She was always available to answer any questions, and helped us during our wedding day. The location is further up the west coast of Oahu, but it's not a problem at all. You'll feel so relaxed that you'll be glad you're not around the busy Waikiki. If you do need larger stores or a supermarket, they are located close in Kapolei, just about 25 minutes away. We truly had an incredible time at this house, and we hope that we can return soon! Thank you again to Debi, Rita, and Heidi for all of their help. It was a dream come true to get married in such a beautiful location.

Matt and I had our wedding at the Turtle House on August 9th 2014. I think we made history by successfully executing the wedding of our dreams in between 2 potential hurricanes which I must stress is not a normal occurrence!! But thank goodness our lucky stars and rainbows brought us beautiful Hawaiian weather for the Big Day and nothing but happy memories!! Due to the excellent location on the Westside of the island we had beautiful weather our entire stay and barely even noticed the storm pass through. Booking the home for our 4 night stay and for the wedding was a breeze with the help of Rita, Debi and Heidi. They kept excellent correspondence with us throughout the entire process. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Rita was flexible and understanding and assisted my family with kindness knowing that we were a little nervous & flustered about the hurricane warnings and helped us to make sure everything went smoothly for our guests. We had about 50 friends and family members attend and the backyard was more then large enough to accommodate this number. Our wedding was beautiful and the Turtle House was just our style for a picturesque yet laid back ceremony/reception. The Turtle Bar was a popular spot during the reception and all of our vendors including DJ, bartenders, sushi bar, caterers, photographers and videographers were very impressed with the venue as well. For anyone looking for additional pictures of the Turtle House as a wedding venue I would be glad to share. Everything was mostly DIY but you don't require much with such a beautiful ocean backdrop! We had several turtle, ray and seal sightings and the full moon against the crashing waves at night was spectacular! Again, we thank Rita and Debi for their hospitality during our stay. We now know the meaning of true Aloha spirit and look forward to many more visits!

The wedding and the house were perfect for our needs. I was also impressed with Debi, although we all here in Hawaii should have the Aloha spirit that I've come to know and enjoy, she exemplifies it to the fullest.
